Bermuda is 95% of our area’s grass. Unfortunately,
several summer and winter weeds, both annuals and
perennials, interfere with its survival. This means that
killing weeds at the first sight of warm weather isn’t
going to rid your yard of weeds or make it look healthy
and full. Having a weed-free lawn is a year-long
process of chemicals and fertilizers.
When weeds and unwanted grasses invade your lawn,
it chokes out the Bermuda grass. And if your yard is
full of weeds, you probably cut the grass extremely
low to make it look manicured which can further
damage the Bermuda grass, but it still doesn’t kill the
weeds.
You probably even mow your yard when the grass isn’t
growing. People with untreated lawns often assume
that they are cutting grass in early spring and late fall
when they are actually cutting weeds.
Properly treated and fertilized Bermuda grass goes
dormant at the first frost and re-emerges after several
weeks of temperate weather in the spring.
Who really has time for a year full of chemicals and
fertilizers? Take the convenient, time-saving approach
and call TennLawn Grounds Management. We have
over twenty years experience treating West Tennessee
lawns. Our knowledgeable technicians provide superior
service that will make your lawn full and healthy.
We use a 6-Step Lawn Treatment Process applying
pre-emerge chemicals in late fall and early spring to
control summer annuals like crabgrass and others,
and post-emerge chemicals to foliage as it grows. In
our Fertilization Applications we use nitrogen during
the growing months and phosphorus and potassium
during the dormant season to protect from the harsh
winter climate.
Sometimes we suggest optional services such as Core
Aeration and/or Soil Testing depending on the
healthiness of your lawn.
